Why we're building Alrith
Operations tooling has sprawled into silos. Alrith is our answer: one control plane spanning observe, understand, and operate.
Operations tooling has sprawled. Metrics live in one silo, logs in another, traces in a third, and the glue between them is a pile of dashboards, runbooks, and tribal knowledge that someone has to keep alive.
When something breaks, you don't find out from one place. You stitch it together — a metric here, a log line there, a guess about how the pieces connect. Mean time to understanding is measured in tabs, not minutes.
One surface instead of many
Alrith is our answer: a single operational control plane that spans observe, understand, and operate.
- Observe — agents collect metrics, logs, traces, and topology where the data already lives. No new central silo to feed.
- Understand — conductors correlate those signals into a live model of your systems, so you go from symptoms to likely cause with blast radius.
- Operate — coordinate operations through the same plane, for both human teams and AI agents.
Built to last
We're holding ourselves to three principles: simple, broad, and timeless.
One lightweight agent per machine, with no sidecars to manage. Every cloud, rack, and edge — Kubernetes-native, VM-friendly, bare-metal fluent. Open protocols and plain data you can walk away with, because your instrumentation should outlive any vendor, including us.
Where we are
Alrith is in active development, with a public launch targeted for 2027. This journal is where we'll share progress as we go — what we're building, why, and what we learn along the way.
If you're tired of stitching silos together, stay tuned.
